January 6, 2022 - Polished off the last couple of ounces from a bottle purchased at a Madeira wine festival in Funchal. The street performers, and the wine servers, were as colorful as the wines. Rose-gold hue, a nose of dried apricots, honey, faded roses, with a viscous mouth-feel. Just a marvelous, charming sweet wine that I wish would have lasted longer. But I couldn't resist.

October 18, 2020 - Reddish brown mahogany colour. Rich and figgy with a good tang of acidity. Delicious.

December 5, 2019 - À la Tienne!; 12/4/2019-12/7/2019 (Paris - France): At its peak, mature, intense and dense with a sweetness never excessive and well balanced by acidity. Digestive and a comforting Portuguese sister bottle for the cold wave that ravages Paris. A nice surprise for what Verjus offers by the glass.

September 4, 2014 - One of the rare misses that I've experienced on this island. Notes of dried cherries and Christmas cake on the nose: promising enough. But there's just not enough acidity. In fact, I think this is the first time I've had a Madeira that I've found cloying. Disappointing.
