February 25, 2024 - I am always impressed with this wine. The fruit always seems so pure, and the wine shows a great balance of fruit and intensity, but at the same time is refined and elegant. I wish I bought a lot of this years ago, before it got so pricey.

February 21, 2024 - Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri Tasting (Bridgeport Arts Center - Chicago IL): Walkaround tasting with the producers. Earthy already with lots going on here. Good enough weight, very bright structure with an interesting future to evolve, but already very tasty and interesting.

December 29, 2023 - Lunch at SSG. Drank in Gabriel Standart. 1st bottle. Tasted blind.
2nd bottle appeared on same day in a blind for Friday night round 2 in the neighbourhood!
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of rose petal, polished oak veneer, strawberries, red cherries, red licorice. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), very fine filigreed high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet strawberries, red cherries, sweet spices, polished oak veneer, rose petal juice. Long finish.
    Excellent quality!
2nd bottle also pop and poured blind: Nose interesting leathery meat, dark red cherries, dusty stones minerals. Palate structured high tannins more evident, fruit slightly darker character with a savoury berry compote. Long spicy sweet licorice finish.
