March 1, 2024 - Lush deep and velvety. Tough to describe exactly what I'm tasting but each sip yearns for a mouthful of grilled beef tenderloin, sauteed morel mushrooms or a medium rare lamb burger. Deep smokey tobacco notes on the end. Wow.

Don't confuse this with a young fruit Zin, all big brash spicy jammy. These really old vine Zins (100 yrs + in some instances) barely exist anymore outside of Amador County. These wines are not for everyone. But if you have acquired the taste, run don't walk, to visit this living gem of a winery before it's gone. -

March 19, 2023 - Lighter in style and flavor than expected. Jammy with black raspberry, black pepper and herbal. Slight tannin in finish.
