March 4, 2018 - From a magnum. Rhubarb and sweet red fruits with a great length. Opened 2 hours before drinking. A lovely burgundy. How do you get that much from Pinot noir?

July 16, 2017 - Excellent bottle. Cherry, touch of liquorice, earthy, mushrooms. Long and complex with tertiary flavours. Drinking very nicely.

May 21, 2016 - Feral, gamey, stewed fruits. Very developed, maybe somewhat confected. Dense mid palate but seemed a touch short on the finish.

December 5, 2015 - Delicate raspberry nose. Pretty. Palate is generous on acidity, but not so generous on fruit. Fairly tannic still, but lacking oomph!

October 24, 2015 - Relatively light but quite attractive without a huge amount of complexity, fair acidity and a touch of fine tannin, some earthy secondary flavours and a medium finish. It may develop a bit more interest with more time, but I wouldn't like to bet on it.

Burgundy-Report

(Potel Nicolas Volnay Vieilles Vignes) The Potel signature wine is, in 2006, a compendium of around 12 separately vinified parcels whose vines average out at 60+ years old. The nose is wide with a nice complexity of dried berries; cranberry, redcurrant and black cherries - very nice. The palate has good intensity and a background of ripe tannin. The finish is a good one. - recommended as always.
