January 9, 2023 - (100% Pinot Noir, 13% Alkohol) Dezent laktisch in der Nase, tiefgründig, nobel, Brombeeren, Wiesenblüten. Im Gaumen mit herrlicher Frucht, ungemein knackig, top feineas Tannin, grandiose Säure, alles an seinem Platz. Das macht heute schon Spass, dürfte sehr gut reifen. 2022-2040+ www.vvwine.ch

December 8, 2022 - PnP. ABV 13.5%. Had an extraordinary ‘95 (made by Gerard Potel) recently, prompted me to seek out a bottle of recent vintages to try out. Very nice nose, dark soils and flower notes. All primary fruits, very fine tannins, mouth watering acidity, good concentration and length. Ever so slight warmth at backend. Very good wine, this is bursting with energy ATM. I have to buy more and pray they will evolve into a ‘95 or ‘96. Both ‘95 and ‘96 were never highly rated by critics right after release, yet they turned into superstars. Obviously the plot could be magical. But what do I know if professional could be completely “salah” in judging those wines. 93++, a stab in the dark.

November 15, 2022 - During a 2020 Burg walkabout tasting, so only brief impressions. The vintage showed very well indeed for both reds and whites. The reds were dense, fresh with good structure like the 2016, the whites pure with good fruit core similar to 2019 and definitely more refined than the plush 2018. TN: At Pousse d'Or the three wines shown were nice as tannin mgmt was better than in previous years. the Chambolle Village (92) showed well with bright red fruit the Volnay 60 Ouvrees (91) also had the same bright fruit but less complexity and the Volnay Caillerets (92) was closed and well structured, crisp, with lots of promise.

March 25, 2022 - Pommard & Volnay tout en nuances - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Palais des Congrès - Beaune): Walk around tasting. Another step up over Clos de la Bousse d'Or. Even slightly bigger, yet this is mostly red-fruited with more spice notes, so more classically Volnay to me. Texturally very bright with very good length. 92-93 point potential.
