January 26, 2024 - I mean I like this wine a fair bit but, whoasa, two earlier reviews emptied the whole wine tasting dictionary on this stuff! Seriously? I'm not sure whether to be impressed or annoyed. I don't think I've ever tasted that much in a single bottle in my life! I get that the guy from Houston might have connections (the winery is owned by a couple from Texas) and therefore needs to keep up the side (so to speak, Texans are like that...) but the other guy? Anyway, it's an enjoyable wine (full disclosure, I am a member of their wine club after all) and definitely worthy of trying.

Whether or not your mouth will experience the rapture that others have experienced is an open question and one for you to explore. But I stand by my 88.....

August 24, 2022 - Retail $35. 50% Vermentino, 40% Riesling, 10% Roussanne. Under DIAM5. Golden, even, yes, amber in the glass with a load of yellow apple, white flower, beeswax, and baking spice. Whoa. The palate is fruity, yes, but balanced with acidity and plenty of spice. If you are into orange wines this might not be orange enough for you. And for those not at all familiar with the genre, this might be a little too funky. For cautious admirers of the style like me this is a Goldilocks wine. Just right.

May 19, 2022 - Light orange/copper color. A fascinating mix of honey, whipped butter, dried flowers, over top of candied orange peel, dried pineapple and some quince. Deep, waxy texture on the palate with gorgeous acidity and complex minerals. Orange blossoms, honeycomb, dried flowers, with these flinty, stony, mountain stream vibes. A lot going on here, this orange wine is up there with the most “accessible” I’ve tasted, but it’s still got that complexity and fascinating texture. A blend of Vermentino, Riesling and Roussanne, fermented on the skins separately in open-top vessels with 30% whole-cluster.
