    March 15, 2024 - 2024 Judgement of Wimbledon

This year we lined up 16 of the best examples of Grenache we could find. Tasters were a few friends, including Neal Martin, Greg Sherwood, Alastair, DF, and more.

This ranked #4/16 for me, and #10/16 overall.

Highest ranked Comando G across the group, 2nd highest for me. Now into a trio impossible to separate on score, but I had to force an order of preference, but could easily rank differently on a different day. Granite soils. 1,100m elevation.

Another Comando G, and an other very austere expression. Needed time, air and a lot of patience to coax this from its slumber. However, once you do, it’s absolutely stunning. Delicate florals. Lots of minerality and herbs. So delicate and beautifully balanced. This is an incredible graceful wine and a strong contender for my favourite in the Comando G lineup. Absolute stunner of a wine. LG deceives it as liquid granite…I absolutely concur.

Great structure and freshness that carries the most delicate of flavour. Beguiling and utterly compelling. Absolute beauty of a wine.

    1,712 bottles.

January 18, 2024 - Pearl of Burgundy 2022 EP tasting: I know I have shat on Comando Gs so much but this wine made me see the light. So fresh and transparent on the palate, without the artifical sweetness that I got from previous wines down the ladder.

January 18, 2024 - Surprisingly light of touch here. Fresh, lively Garnacha.
