Community Tasting Notes 3

August 29, 2023 - Opened in Hong Kong. Slow-oxed for a few hours before being served blind.

My first experience with Silvaner, and I was seriously impressed. The table were guessing anything from a rogue Alsace or Austrian Riesling, to a Kabinett. Slight sweetness on the nose which explains the Kabinett guesses, but definitely dry with great acidity and minerality coming through.

Definitely need to revisit this and mull over this wine properly to wrap my head around it, but I was very happy with this and glad that it also defeated the blind tasters at the table. Keller never disappoints, and I will definitely be stocking up on this in the future.

I believe there is definitely upside to this, given its youth, and I may revist my score upwards upon a second tasting which definitely needs to happen soon.

June 17, 2022 - Back to Riesling Country 2.0; 6/17/2022-6/21/2022 (Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Bad Kreuznach, Niederhausen, Oberhausen, Bad Sobernheim , Bockenau): One sip, brief note:
Top of the heap from KPK,
way too young today, somehow unbalanced cause the spice and the enormous demanding acid stand on its own,
needs at least 3- better 5 years in the bottle to settle,
    *(***-?), 92(+) potential

May 8, 2022 - not blind, at the winery
60 yo vines, the best Silvaner so far from Keller, not too herbal, balanciert, more balanced, cracking acidity. 90
