Community Tasting Notes 12

July 22, 2021 - Full yellow. Fusel and secondary notes as well as a tropical scent. Glorious glycerine feel. Incredible complexity-just off dry papaya, herbs, and smokiness with strong acidity to balance everything. Dynamite wine with superlative verve and freshness despite the aged Riesling notes.

More soil comes to the fore the second night. Pretty amazing stuff.

November 10, 2019 - Ripe and tropical, with aromas of guava, candied mango, pineapple, with ginger, honey, hay, mountain stream. This is rich and concentrated, with moderate acidity - I would prefer more raciness, but this wine is still balanced, even though it falls on the fatter side. But the fruit (pineapple, guava, orange marmalade) is so delicious, and it's laced with ginger snaps, honeycomb, spiced tea, underlying chalky minerals. Really delicious stuff. Glad I popped it when I did, as I'm not sure it has the acid to age for too long.

June 1, 2019 - Light tulip color. Mostly herbs and some citrus. Enveloping, glycerine feel that gives the false impression of some sweetness. Bitter citrus, herb, and earth with outstanding acid structure and real power. Fiery, distilled spirit finish. Hardly any secondary development. I likely would have mistaken it for Gruner Veltliner if tasted blind. Exceptional bottle in great shape.

November 3, 2014 - Rich tropical fruit and apricot on the nose. Pure ripe fruits with nice minerality on the palate. Great balance. 93 points

December 3, 2013 - last bottle of many that cost only £16 from waitrose 25% off in 2008. what a
bargain considering how good this is not to mention how much it costs now.
great riesling with stone fruits, citrus & sherbet . still youthful . top draw
