August 8, 2016 - Decanted 90 mins in advance. Minty and red fruit nose. high acidity; fine but distinct tannin; plenty of sweet red fruit. All settling and well integrated now. Delicious.

July 22, 2015 - Starts of quite toned down, but with some time the nose starts to open up. Some cherries, old wood, slightly developed with some raisinated fruit, tobacco and herbs. With time there comes out more chocolate, roasted oak and darker fruit.

Dry with medium acidity, medium+ tannins, medium+ body and a slightly warm finish.

Don't really fancy this that much, and not nearly as much as some of the others at the tasting. Quite a nice nose and a fairly modern styled palate. Nothing that catches my attention. Would love to try under more focused circumstances though.

March 16, 2014 - Probably still too early. A lot going on with notes of coffee, amaretto and cherry but sticky tannins.

    December 11, 2012 - dark red-brown
opened and lowered to shoulder 3 hours prior to consuming
earthy secondary aroma with ripe mature fruits
firm body, grip tannins, elegant & thin, well balanced, typical Nebbiolo but from the Langhe, long aftertaste and enjoyable. Yet, not as good as a quality Barbaresco or Barolo.

November 10, 2011 - White Truffle Tasting with Piemontese Wine Pairings at Spiaggia in Chicago: Paired with fourth course:

BRIOSCIA CON UOVO FRITTO E SALSICCIA / Fried Vandeboom Farm red egg, with Moser Cornish hen sausage brioche and crispy skin vinaigrette

Wine was explosive on the nose, but didn't get much of that explosiveness on the palate, lovely velvet-like texture. Nose gave dried cherries and cranberries, leather and game. Palate had subtle red fruits, a bit of dried flower and dark soil. A very nice wine.
