Community Tasting Notes 4

December 23, 2009 - Clear gold core of moderate plus intensity (wine 'glows' in the glass) extending out to a wide straw edge and thin watery rim - rich and full bodied or lots of oak. Clean nose of talc, spice, cool melon, cucumber - I'm getting different than normal scents but this is an absolutely classic PG nose. Dry (seemingly off dry because of the depth of fruit) on the palate with rich mouth filling flavours of moderate+ intensity with amazing depth of flavour (don't serve this too cool - really expresses itself at cool room temperature). Amazing spice and quince flavours with some minerality, nuttiness and smoky notes - superb! The finish is moderately long and the richness and mineral flavours continue well past a minute. I'm getting more of these and laying them down for awhile. This has been (in my opinion) rated far too low so far.

December 28, 2008 - Pale golden. Fresh smell of cucumber with underlying honey. Taste of melon and peaches, with honeyed finish and lasting acidity. Good length. An excellent aperitif.

April 16, 2008 - Wine Cellar Mosel & Alsace (Wine Cellar): (Tasted Blind): A light to medium green that is intense with apple, honey and white peach. A rich profile, I found this more resembled a Chenin Blanc style than a traditional Pinot Gris. The wine is notably rich and intense with plenty of fleshy stone fruit and offers a good length on the palate.

November 26, 2007 - Excellent, golden and rich, concentrated and sweet yet with nice balancing acidity, notes of honey, beeswax, lanolin, sweet fruit on the nose, complex with decent length. gotta love Alsacion wines (89 Points).
