  October 29, 2023 - I had much anticipation for this wine, because of the seemingly instant fame of the producer and amount of effort required just to track down 1-2 bottles of her wines. This was beautifully crystalline ruby in color and showed great brightness and clarity. It showed vibrant red cherries, a touch of Christmas spice, and juicy red plums. There was great pleasure here, but also lovely refinement and class.

  Fresh cool fruit, little reductive at first. Red and blue fruited, with pretty spice. Opens with air. A lovely Langhe Nebbiolo made for the table.

  September 24, 2022 - 2020 - Philine's second vintage/bottling of her Langhe Nebbiolo, emerging from a rented parcel in 'Castagni' di La Morra, right above 'Roncaglie'.
  The nose alone is fragrant and pretty compelling, with typical scents of rose petal and cool strawberry; it quickly introduces to a lifted, delicate wine. The seamless palate confirms the impression of an elegant, pure Nebbiolo, which seems to deliver its nuances like waves approaching the shore, while satiny textures and subtle tannins linger. The wine goes on with poise and persistence. On the mid palate, somehow, it feels as if a cube of all aromas together was melting slowly, with just the right momentum. The bouquet begins with a clear, fresh blast of strawberry & ribes with some bramble, until further shades of wild rose, red apple skin, cherry blossom and a dollop of chalk appear. Elegant, long finish with a hint of spice. What a gorgeous second version of Philines Langhe Nebbiolo, that evidently speaks both of her idea of Nebbiolo and of La Morra; said that, it makes me look forward even more to the first vintage (2020) of the 'Preda' Barolo.
