July 23, 2022 - This pure Grenache Rouge comes from the Bois Long parcel, located at 300 metres in the Dentelles de Montmirail. The rocks date back to the middle Triassic. The vineyard is surrounded by olive trees, thyme, rosemary and curry plants. The grapes were hand-picked on 11 September 2020, not destemmed and fermented in concrete cuve. This was followed by ageing for eleven months in enamel tanks and for nine months in bottle.

Light transparent garnet red with brightening rim.

The 2020 Bois Long smells of ripe sweet cherries, cassis, raspberry brandy and warm yeast plait. warm yeast plait. The sensuously warm and sweet notes, joined by a little liquorice, are accompanied by a little dried wood and rubbed stone.

On the palate, the Grenache comes across as round and silky, warm and full with a powdery and lining tannin, with cherry, cassis and fromboise spirits, fragrant herbs and warm spices. Despite the richness, Philippe Gimel ensures precision. The wine gains clarity from a fine acid structure and a lively minerality.
