April 15, 2024 - This started our Napa adventure, which began at Bella Oaks. Martin was nice enough to pour this so our palates could be warmed up and fresh! This is a quite serviceable Champagne and offers a great QPR. Nose showed brioche and straw with some sea breeze and hints of lemon zest. Palate showed toast with lots of citrus and tart apple and a streak of minerality (chalk and saline). A solid Champagne and a solid 92.

April 15, 2024 - This was the bight and early kickoff at Bella Oaks. Moderate nose and palate notes of Meyer lemon, white flowers, river rocks with a note of orange peel. Nice tight bubbles, pale gold color, good mousse. Opened for us, as I recall, and with a degree of tightness, as others have noted, so it would have been good to see if time awakened it more (as it awakened my palate and other senses at 10 a.m.). Of the 3 champs (the Krug was x2 at both Bond and Harlan), this was more similar in frame to the Cristal but didn’t have quite the intensity and persistence of that bottling, but at 1/3 the price, a more than solid effort. 93++

June 14, 2023 - Commanderie de Bordeaux: 2000 Lafite, LLC, & Cos (The Minikahda Club, Mpls): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. Citrus nose, chalky, light floral notes. The palate is tangy, lemon, taut and strict, chalky, limestone, dry with fine bubbles. Feels a bit youthfully constrained at the moment. 85%PN, 15%C, 2017 base, 3g/dl. 91(+?)pts.
