February 4, 2024 - Fruity wine, short finish, some pepper.

August 24, 2023 - Also known as Lemburger, Blaufränkisch is a rare grape to see in the US. This rendition could easily be mistaken for an Austrian Blaufränkisch from a quality producer like Moric. It is high-toned, red-fruited, medium-bodied and best served slightly chilled (65-70 F). Jim Lester has done a fabulous job with this grape.

January 1, 2023 - Full expression and structure! Drink now!

October 18, 2022 - Tasted at the winery from bottle. Violet color. The grapes come from a vineyard near Ann Arbor. Fuller bodied. Rich with boysenberry and blueberry notes. Jim considers it his version of a Beaujolais. doesn't have the depth of his other reds. A drink now style. 86-87 points.
