Community Tasting Notes 1

March 24, 2024 - Spices, earth and tart red cherry on the nose. Close to medium bodied (13.9% ABV) with rounded red cherry and a touch of black cherry upfront. Gains density through the middle and the black cherry notes become a bit more noticeable towards the back. This, coupled with the darker red cherry blends well with the acidity, tannins, tart red fruits and the lingering light spices and minerals through the finish. It doesn't have quite the complexity or balance of the 2018 and while time will certainly help, particularly on the balance side, I'm not fully convinced that the final result will be appreciably better. I may try another bottle in Q3 2024 and see if serving a bit warmer might help.
