April 20, 2024 - This was a Mähler-Besse bottle released in 2005 that I purchased maybe a decade ago. Beautiful deep ruby robe. Gorgeous fragrance of pure “Margauxberry” (violet and dark plum). Medium weight. Very, very pretty and nice acidity. Elegant. Soft to no tannin. Lovely flavor - but very light since there is no grip.

March 30, 2024 - Very good mature claret with notes of tobacco, leather and forest floor. Served 30 minutes after opening, it held up well in the glass even though it didn't develop much in the course of the evening.

March 11, 2024 - Spectacular showing tonight after a two hour decant. The soft Merlot fruit was really excellent with good tertiary elements, and some nice gentle tannins to back up everything. I wouldn't wait too long, however, to drink.
