Community Tasting Notes 10

  • EmDubyah Likes this wine:

April 29, 2024 - Drinking very nicely. High quality, clean fruit on palate - more new world than I was expecting - I forget what I paid for the bottle but thoroughly enjoyable

  • Sagan99 Likes this wine: 88 points

April 11, 2024 - A light Burgundian looking Nebbiolo, which had a silky yet still tannic backbone with usual character of the grape.

    Pale ruby
    Rose Cherries Raspberries cranberry
    Herbs
    Body medium
    Alcohol high
    Acid high
    Tannins high

A well made wine of which I need to taste more often. I have found Nebbiolo to be intermittent at best, though recently bought a few good options, though likely need a decade in the cellar!

    Nebbiolo 100%
    14% abv

(Interesting small plates to accompany this wine..a Somm choice. Well done!)

Calamari -lightly fried humboldt squid, chili gremolata, buttermilk aioli
Crudo- hamachi, hokkaido scallops, sicilian style
Carpaccio - Alberta tenderloin, tonnato, horseradish, gnocco fritti
    Gnocchi -
seasonal mushrooms, pesto bianco, pecorino tartufo

    PS Drink The Rainbow!!

February 23, 2024 - Need a proper decant. 90 points if you take price into account

November 16, 2023 - Score based on Qpr, need a fair bit of air, decanted 3 hours. Red fruit and floral nose, bright cherry and strawberries, tea leaves, tannins are obviously present but not overly.

Well made and enjoyable for weekdays.

  • Boudica Likes this wine: 91 points

October 22, 2023 - Sanguine, transparent, clear. Pronounced nose of dried straw, wet rock, earthy red cherries and red currant, rose petal. Extremely clean, almost oceanic. Bright, tart acidity, firm, grippy tannins. Savoury, slightly hot. Of all the Langhe Nebbiolos I've had lately, this one stands out. It's vibrant, has decent complexity and is pretty delicious. I'll definitely have another bottle.
