August 22, 2023 - I didn’t find the issues that other posters mentioned with this Grenache. No smoke taint in my bottle, and I found this to be a mid weight to lighter style Grenache, fruit forward style with nice strawberry on the nose and palate along with some red plum and maybe a little cigar box. Nothing to knock your socks off, but for the price, it’s a good choice. I’ve found Holly’s Hill to be a very good Rhône wines producer.

January 28, 2023 - A bit smoky for a straight grenache. Tainted possibly? Not off-putting but not representative of the varietal.

November 12, 2022 - This bottle, not offensive but nothing to write about. Comparing to my last, recent bottle, is proof of a consistency problem at the winery

November 4, 2022 - Aside from being released too young, this tastes like it was made with a total lack of passion. Pedestrian fruit with a prominent smell of alcohol. After an hour, the alcohol blows off and the flavors balance out but unfortunately, it’s no better a wine. I’m not sure where their advent falls, in relation to some of other stellar producers in the area but if you can’t make a notable Grenache in this AVA, you might want to reconsider your focus. I’ve been coming here for years and although early on, I excused their shortcomings as growing pains, they’ve been at it way too long to be stuck at this level.
Revisited on day 3, convinced the quirky edges would round out but came back to an acidic pinball machine;sharp with tart to sappy fruit that was so out of balance, I couldn’t even finish the glass.
