Community Tasting Notes 4

February 14, 2007 - COLOR - no browning is apparent; this wine still has alot of lively red color, even after 10 years. NOSE - there was a wonderful bouquet of fruit on first inspection, but it disappeared fairly quickly; this wine holds up much better served IN THE BOTTLE, relative to decanting, which I did for the last bottle; after exposure to the air, the fruit leaves more vegetal and plastic aromas, very light. TASTE - this wine holds up much better un-oxidized; the tannins hold their balance much better, and allow the red fruits to come to the fore; I am not blown away by the profile, but it is much better than the last bottle; I will give this vintage another ~2 years. RATING - 90.

December 5, 2006 - Holy s**t. I expected to open and pour down the drain. This actually aged pretty nicely. Good cherry fruit..still alive. A bit vegetal...but controlled and integrated....so this adds a bit of complexity. Long finish...nice.

July 4, 2005 - Spicy cinammon framed light raspberry fruit. Lacking depth, but drinking smoothly. Will probably not improve.
