July 23, 2023 - Enjoy with food.
Appearance - clear, medium minus gold
Nose - clean, youthful, medium intensity, quite interesting nose, smells like a marinade, you get lemon, you get lots of herbs and seasoning, peaches, apricots, the nose says, this will pair nicely with roast chicken. I had it with baked fish and it worked.
Palate - youthful, not totally integrated yet but very drinkable. Should be aged. You taste the oak. The wine is dry but juicy. Ripe fruit. Mandarin orange. Kumquat. Salinity. Medium body. In your mouth the oakiness dissipates. Not a Cali oaky chard but your fist sip and on the finish you get the oaky notes. Cedar. Alcohol is medium. Finish is medium plus. Acidity is medium plus. Your mouth waters on finish.
This wine is interesting.
