April 17, 2024 - Needs 2h to open up properly.

Nose of light peaches, supple oak, honeycomb. Palate is much more interesting with underripe apple, acacia flower, lime zest, flint. Finish shows nice white minerality and a kiss of citrus.

I was in the midst of writing a very critical note (87) and then the wine transformed in front of me. I stepped away for 20min and came back to this enjoyable bottle. It is not coiled or layered the way you find the top Walter Scott or Morgen Long wines to be. But it does have nice complexity for its price. Many of those higher end chards I've had tend to be better closer to room temp than cellar temp, but this shows best with a slight chill.

90-91ish, drinks well now with 2h air but should do well in the cellar for another 6-8 years.

February 15, 2024 - Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, grapefruit & lemons/limes with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, stony & a slight hint of honey in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of green apples & citrus notes of grapefruits & lemons/limes with minerals, some butterscotch & a slight touch of vanilla. Lingering crisp finish. Drinks quite well at present & should develop further with additional aging.

June 11, 2023 - Columbia and Willamette Valley Wine Tasting; 6/8/2023-6/11/2023 (Vancouver, WA and the Willamette Valley, OR): Sourced from multiple vineyards within the Laurelwood AVA, this Chardonnay was barrel fermented and aged for 14 months in French oak (15% new), allowing full malolactic conversion. Tasted at the winery from a bottle that had been uncorked approximately one hour prior, it is a light golden, limpid wine with aromas of baked apples, white peaches, citrus, honey and vanilla. Medium-bodied, low-to-medium in acidity and without alcoholic heat (13.2%), it delivers flavors congruent with the aromas, adding a thread of minerality and a healthy tranche of spicy oak. Solid on the mid-palate and lengthy on the back end, this is a well-crafted Chardonnay that, for my palate, would have been even better with a little more acid and a little less oak. Drink now-2027.

May 13, 2023 - Casual Saturday Tastings (Northern Chicago 'burbs): Stand up tasting. Rich, ripe apple with enough restraint. Good now.

September 17, 2022 - Wow. This is a fine palate. Extremely fine. Cleanest iceberg express on the nose ever. A little oak. So f****** fine. Earlier vintages we’re very good too (of Reserve), but this is a notch up.
