March 19, 2024 - Probably very confusing for Americans to have a varietal Chardonnay labeled "blanc". Anyway, this, while a malo-bomb; is quite restrained with everything else. While not really to my palate, it works well as a crowd pleaser.

Macerated peach, ripe pineapple, cumin, cream and vanilla on the nose. You can smell the dairy, with a medium + intensity of aromas. Not really a lot of oaky aromas. The palate adds butter, cheese rind, lemon peel - including some of the white pith and has a nice leesy bitterness too. It's mostly driven by the butter and cream flavors with only a medium intensity of flavors. Malo forward, but restrained.

Medium + body with medium - acid (I really wish it had more). Overall nice tasting but not really to my palate. Malo fans who don't like the oak that often goes with it are going to love this, however. Drink now. Not going to age any further.

February 23, 2024 - Notes of citrus, tropical fruit, honeysuckle with good balance and acidity.
    Nice finish.

February 17, 2024 - Some oak, but balanced with good minerality. Overall, in good balance.

January 8, 2024 - Considering this is a 2021, it's drinking really well right now. Would have thought this one would benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar, and ultimately it probably still will. But, tonight it fell victom to experiment, and did quite well. This is not a oaked or overoxidized monster nor is it a steek tanked up acid bomb either. It's actually in between the two, but honestly a bit more to the oxidized style. Mature and moderate peach and pear but with very good acidity and salinity throughout. Herbal influence with white honeydew, a bit tart to the finish, and a moderate dose of white pepper on the finish. The average score here is a 90, which I'd say is 1-2 points too low for what I'd grade this wine. I'm going to say this one would probably benefit from up to 2-3 years of aging or drink now with about an hour decant.

January 4, 2024 - This was my first "My Favorite Neighbor" wine, and I am very impressed! It's a weird label because you can hardly read it: raised bumps for the letters "MFN" (with the edges missing, no less), white on white, then a small "BLANC 2021" below in dark letters. On the back, it is identified as Chardonnay from San Luis Obispo County, CA. But taste-wise, this is an exceptionally smooth wine -- that was my first reaction. It is mildly buttery without any overwhelming flavor - just delicious. It's got good body. I bought mine from B-21, which seems to have the best price at $30.
