May 1, 2019 - Drank over three nights. This is the first wine I've tried from Anam Cara, though I purchased four of their Pinot bottles nearly 10 years back. I think I might have waited too long to try this. It showed somewhat muted, flat, and atypical for the variety. There a touch of heat in this 15% ABV labeled wine with shy, slightly oxidative fruit. The bouquet burgeons with time in the glass, and some floral complexity emerges. The wine addresses the palate with spice and heat, but also with an extremely soft, supple and aged embrace. Heavier for a Pinot, particularly with that heat. I'm not entranced.

March 4, 2015 - PnP. As before, nose and palate of cherries, strawberries & a touch of dust. Improved over the next hour. Poured half into a 375 ml and had the next night. Not as good.

May 26, 2014 - Surprised that this was quite good compared to what I had two years ago. The sour taste mellowed and it was quite balanced between fruit and acidity. Light to medium body. Mixed red fruits - strawberry and red raspberry flavors and a very smooth finish. Looks like some west coast Pinots need aging. 90+

January 28, 2014 - Heavy on the tobacco and licorice flavors, very deep flavors but well balanced. Not sure what will happen with some age...

January 13, 2014 - I think I waited too long on this one. Some of the fruit has faded and what's left is alcohol. Maybe my final bottle will be better.
