May 9, 2024 - Pale ruby colour. Medium and developing nose with ripe strawberry, ripe red cherry, dark chocolate, forest floor, tea leaves, earth and savory. Medium taste of ripe strawberry, ripe raspberry, dried herbs, dark chocolate, earth and savory. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium (-) and grainy tannins. Full body. A very good Californian Pinot Noir. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with duck or poultry.

May 8, 2024 - Maí smakk Eðalklúbbsins, 2024 (Marbakkabraut 12): Vínið var loftað í um klukkustund.

March 27, 2024 - On the colour, medium garnet, slight brown-ish, with a wide rainy, translucent rim and fat legs.

On the nose, the typical pinot funk is quite prominent, and you can also smell a bit of the alcohol. The red fruit is quite restrained, with mostly wet earth, forest floor, and mushroom notes upfront. There are also notes of vanilla, oak, and smoke, but are quite well integrated and are not dominating the earthy notes. After half an hour or so in the glass, the fruit starts singing - red cherries, strawberries and raspberries are mixed with spices, peppercorns, and herbs.

On the palate, notes of wet earth and forest floor are quite prominent from the beginning, similar to the nose. The red fruits are also quite delicious with red cherries and raspberries showing themselves, and beautifully mixed with spices and peppers. The oak is very well integrated and everything comes together with the acidity. There is a bit of heat towards the finish, but nothing overbearing. Tannins are fine and silky, and the finish is quite long with the red fruits lingering around.

This is quite a serious and complex pinot noir, and is absolutely delicious, despite it being quite young. Can't wait to re-taste this 3-5 years from now.

February 14, 2024 - A light, dusty, translucent red in the glass. On the nose there are red berries, raspberry, cherry, tea aromas, spices. On the palate are the same red fruits, tea, earth/forest floor, some oak. Very long finish that really coats your mouth. A very well made wine with many years of improvement ahead of it, I probably opened it too soon but I couldn't resist. A little bit astringent at first out of the bottle but really hit its stride after decanting over the evening. If you want to enjoy it now definitely decant for at least 1 hour. Enjoy!

January 29, 2023 - By the glass. Simple, direct on the nose with memories of strawberry, earth, spices and white pepper. Modern concentration on the palate balanced by acids. Unnecessary tannic.

Por copas. Simple, directo en nariz con recuerdos de fresa, tierra, especias y pimienta blanca. Concentración moderna en el paladar, equilibrada por la acidez. Innecesariamente tánico.
