June 14, 2015 - Classic Burgundy. Medium intensity. Good acidity, with touch of minerality. Citrus and apple.

April 11, 2009 - Jean-Marc Boillot is an artist. His 2006 Montagny 1er Cru is simply perfect; not only for the standard of montagny wines.
You can consider this simple montagny 1er cru as a really good top burgundy. The perfect and modest use of wood and
the slightly smokeyness in the aftertaste, but above all freshness combined with elegance and persistance show his skills.
    Drink now and next year.

January 19, 2009 - Extremely aromatic with floral and citrus; light-moderate yellow color. Little or no oak and light body. Great balance of citrus and fruit, but not bold enough for the roasted chicken meal. Compared with a classic CA oaked Chard and was amazed. This has darker color, WAY more nose, and fruitier and acidic taste.

June 28, 2008 - Fresh on the nose with floral hints. Very refreshing wine with hardly any oak (thank you) and nice finish. Even better when it opened up more and drank it the next day. Rate 90 points.

April 22, 2008 - Hay and grapefruit on the nose, with flowers and citrus fruit on the palate. Little noticeable oak, and were it not for the weight and slightly oily complexion, this might be mistaken for a Cali SB. Decent.

Burgundy-Report

(Boillot Jean-Marc Montagny 1er Cru) Medium-pale yellow. Starts a little spritzy on the nose, but very slowly loses the sherbet note to deliver nice subtle oak and plenty of ripe pear fruit. Good balance with faintly lingering acidity. The flavours are lingering, if just a little saccharin. Always a reasonable value wine.
