Glass: Stölzle Universal
Dense, complex, deep. Clear fruit, fresh, good acidity, medium length. Safe ageing potential. 90-91+ -

Nose: sour almond, kumquat, acacia flowers, lime zest, hint of toffee, boxwood
Palate: medium-high acidity, medium-full body. Good balance, though youth is evident In a hint of alcohol bite. Very intense, big wine
Finish: medium
This is young right now, but it is one of those wines where it is impossible to argue that it is not made excellently. I will give the next bottle a couple years. For now, cool not cold and 2h of air recommended -

September 29, 2023 - Medium yellow gold. Very tight, only opens up slowly. Shy fruit (apple, peach, nectarine, lime, and melon), chamomile, yeast, oak spice, smoke and mineral notes, with medium-level acidity and good length. Feels heavy, and oaky and rustic, lacking integration. Needs time, but should come together eventually. Hold, and start drinking from 2026. 89(++)(?)

"Il rudere del castello Casanova, riportato per la prima volta in un documento del 1206, si erge maestoso alle porte di Terlano. Altrettanto imponente e complesso si presenta il nostro nobile uvaggio di Pinot bianco, Chardonnay e Sauvignon blanc. Questo Terlaner classico ricalca tutti i pregi della sua zona di produzione, e si presenta come vino vigoroso, ricco di sfaccettature e impreziosito da note minerali. Esprime pienamente tutto il suo potenziale solo dopo molti anni d’invecchiamento in bottiglia."

Vinificazione
Vendemmia e selezione delle uve manuali. Pigiatura delicata a grappolo intero e sfecciatura per sedimentazione naturale. Fermentazione lenta a temperatura controllata in botti di legno grandi (30 hl). Fermentazione malolattica parziale (solo per le uve Pinot bianco e Chardonnay), e affinamento per 12 mesi sui lieviti fini in botti di legno grandi .
