October 24, 2020 - dégorgée en mai 2008 - nice and ripe on the palate, slightly bitter. Lemon citrus, a little marmalade, and nice toasty notes.

February 13, 2020 - Slightly dark color and a very mature expression. Overmature apples and lemon drops dominating with some nuts, brioche and limestone. Week but persistent mousse. Still drinkable but don't wait long.

August 5, 2019 - Les Amoureuses Dinner (Imperial Treasure Teochew, Ion): An interesting compare and contrast with the 2000. It had a similarly arresting nose, full of big yellow fruited aromas edged with a slightly oxidative character, and little bits of spice, earth and dried flowers. The palate had the same strength as the Vilmart, but perhaps with a touch more rounded, showing ripe, rich flavours of yellow fruit, and a bit of spice, all playing against a nice minerally backdrop into a long, strong finish. Nicely developed given the vintage, and drinking very nicely now. Excellent.

December 26, 2016 - Slightly close nose to start but soon blossoms. Palate was quite tight in a Champagne class but becomes more complex with different layers in a white wine glass. Third and last bottle, some oxidative notes with yellow fruits but not as forward as my 2nd bottle. Recall some good memories with the 1st tasting. Good complexity and length.

There is a hint of white chalkiness after 1 hour which add structure to the fruits and lees' flavours. It recalls much to my experience of the bottle of Jacques Selosse at their domaine restaurant - which it turns out to be the lieux-dit from Ambonnay as well. Looks like this white chalkiness mineral flavour is a signature from the terroir. Compared to the chalkiness from some crus in Cote des Blancs, it has more body and less sharp nor creamy, but also carries a thickiness, like a concrete, like a gypsum.

Interesting wine. Ready for drinking now. 17/20

November 12, 2016 - Egly-Ouriet Tasting (Restaurant Gustav Zürich): From Magnum, similar to 02 but not the length and finesse, 93-94
