September 3, 2023 - Linden's climate change (?) vintage 2023 (Linden, VA): Climate change Chardonnay comes to Linden. Most Linden Chardonnays strike me as Burgundian, typically with a lean, mineral, Chablis-like verve predominating over the ripe fruit one associates with Napa and Sonoma versions. The 2019 Hardscrabble has plenty of acidity, but its flavor profile approaches the generous appley, caramel custard end of the spectrum. Certainly has the stuffing to evolve further.
