March 3, 2024 - Autolytic, but otherwise aromatically mute. You can tell the fruit is on the riper side, but otherwise there isn't a great deal of minerality, complexity or lift. Perhaps there was something wrong with this bottle, relative to the experiences below. Either way, I’m not a buyer when Laherte BdB Brut Nature is roughly the same price.

December 31, 2023 - This is the second bottle of this I've had this year. every time I try it, i want to buy more. It was really delicious now, but tight enough that I think it's going to improve over time. I believe this is the last vintage of this wine as well.

December 29, 2023 - There’s a lot going on here. The aroma is deep, complex and intriguing with generous apple, tangerine and yeast.

At first, there was just a quick flash of flavor, but after 30min the wine really opened up with candied citrus and vanilla. Reminded me of an orange creamsicle, but with some aromatic floral notes too. Strong mineral backbone with well balanced acidity. Long, evolving finish.

This wine has character - and it’s lovely. Much better after 1 hour of air, it really starts to fill the palette and becomes a lot more engaging. Strong buy.

November 10, 2023 - A little side by side action. Sparkling vs. Champagne.

Chuy at first was a little flashy and one dimensional. The 2008 Pierre Moncuit Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Millésimé was more elegant and reserved, typical of a vintage champagne with decent age.

After about 30-45 minutes the UTW rounded out, settled in and became a joy to drink. No longer the summer time pool pounder we were first introduced to at PNP.

By end of both bottles a good number of the tasters preferred that UTW Chuy.

    Wonderful showing.

November 4, 2023 - On the nose- Big bright fruit, fresh citrus, fresh yellow apple, fresh baked bread, fresh toasted almond, fresh brioche, fresh cream, barn funk, wild flowers.

On the palate- Big bright fruit and fresh citrus, fresh yellow apple and fresh baked bread, fresh toasted almond and fresh brioche and fresh cream with a little barn fun and with a hint of wild flowers on the finish. This wine is drinking KILLER now but has great acidity and freshness and will last another 10+ years if not longer with no problem at all.
