May 11, 2024 - This was fine. I didn’t pay much attention to it but it was nice to drink. Same as previous bottle. Very approachable.

May 5, 2024 - Dried cherries and a bit of orange but I also get a sense of French fries and steak after decanting two hours… paired perfectly with a filetto di pomodoro with hot spicy Italian sausage over penne and a healthy helping of garlic bread… Very good.

May 4, 2024 - Wine Spectator Grand Tour (Las Vegas, NV): Altesino's 2018 Brunello is a deep red/garnet wine with an aromatic profile of red currants, Montmorency cherries, blood oranges, violets, tobacco and savory herbs. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, judiciously oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%), it delivers flavors congruent with the aromas, adding a component of iron on the dense mid-palate. Even at this early stage, the medium-weight tannins are soft-textured, lending a smooth character to the lengthy finish. This is an elegant wine that should age gracefully. Drink now-2033.

April 28, 2024 - Medium red. Great earthy black cherry and thyme nose. Delicious textured cherry, berry, dried mushroom and currant flavours. The finish is long and balanced with a bit of thyme.

I don’t remember ever having a BdM so good at this age. My experience with young Brunello has never been this much fun.
