Community Tasting Notes 5

January 12, 2024 - Very nice nose to this. I read after that this is 100% syrah If I understood correctly and I was honestly surprised. Very fruit forward with a lot of ripe red fruits. Nose was strawberry and light pepper. Palate was the same along with a touch of tart blackberries and chocolate. Some herbs In there but not very clear what exactly. I found this wine to be pleasant but not particularly complex or expressive. If the Jamet name didn't command higher prices this would be a good daily/weekly wine

September 1, 2023 - Not bad, but you will be overpaying for the label.

August 26, 2023 - Was reading an interview with the Jamet son and he mentioned wanting to embrace a little bitterness and vegetal qualities, and I can see the results in this wine.

However, it seems way too early to tackle, because none of the otherwise enjoyable syrah characteristics are there (ie. olive, blood, pepper). Just quite thin and sour/bitter at the moment.

Hopefully it will start to show itself closer to the end of the year.

June 30, 2023 - Floral nose, tar, blue berries. Leaner than usual, good freshness, marks of dark berries, tar, olives. Tannins soft but marked. I find this to be great at the table now, but surely it will also go 10 years. 12.5% alc.

    90/91?
