May 10, 2024 - Nicely aromatic and relatively food-friendly but a bit too fruit-forward for my liking. 14% ABV.

March 31, 2024 - hard to rate this young....definitely a well made wine. Black ink, traditional malbec characteristics....subtle blue fruit that is a bit shut down, seawater, cassis, tannins....give 10 years

March 23, 2024 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (J&L's): Double blind. Deep inky opaque color. Opens with a dominant meaty note with blackberry, pepper and blueberry underneath. Full-bodied, firm and tannic, with black fruit and spice flavors. There's a subtle plastic/chemical note in there too, but it's not enough to be a distraction. (R&S)

March 23, 2024 - Reductive aromas at first, a bit of funkiness, herbs and berries emerge with air. Medium-full bodied on the palate, round mid-palate, quite extracted in a silky way with soft tannins on the mid-palate. Black fruit and floral inner aromas, slate-y texture/impression. Finish is OK, again very soft tannins, medium acidity, no oak.

Seems like a wine to drink young, though the integrated structure is probably sneaky in terms of longevity. Still, the forward profile seems like one best enjoyed near term. Like the style here, though not as wild or edgy as I'd hoped for.
