April 19, 2024 - Some reduction in the nose, although able to detect some fruits and herbacious notes. It is not the classical Hydrogen Sulfide "blocked drain/sewer/rotten egg" smell but a more gentle musky, rural Brettanomyces smell.
The wine is satisfactory in the mouth, considering the difficult year. Fruit forward but simple, lighter body, and at the best medium finish.
Does not get anywhere near the producer Alliiet.
This wine is clearly "lightly faulty" meaning it still drinks well with ok fruit...

    Day 2: Brett disappeared???👍
Strange. Lifting score to 86. Red fruit in the nose and no Brett apart from just after removing the cork. Body now medium. The air has clearly done some good for this wine. Quite clearly there is some issues since the Brett is so pronounced one day 1. Causes can be many: poor hygiene, low sulfite levels and a handful of other reasons....

March 7, 2024 - Very reductive at first sniff, that blows off to reveal brett and other rustic notes. There is a problem at Baudry, I used to buy his wines and have been disappointed by overpowering Brett over several vintages.

December 4, 2023 - black fruit, pepper, vegetal nose, wet leaves?, mild rounded tannins hitting front teeth. First Chinon I've had. Young and without decanting time. Will compare over couple of days withore oxidation.

December 2, 2023 - Needs lots of air, decanting plus several hours. Even then reductive band-aid nose covers up some of the pretty bright fruit, cool minerality, and veg. Perfect typicity of the loire.

November 28, 2023 - This is the kind of vintage I really like for this wine - gives some fruit, but also so many other things, like bell pepper, black licorice, and earth. It's not a crowd pleaser, it's too interesting and not defined by fruit. Reminds me of the wine I fell for back in the mid to late aughts. Day three was particularly good.
