January 22, 2011 - Solid New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with grass, tropical fruit and pear. A little acidic but with some seafood no worries. Well made and still drinking well.

June 29, 2010 - one of my favourite SB especially at this price point. A great QPR.

March 24, 2010 - I drank about a case of this wine over the summer/fall of 2007 and didn't necessarily believe it had the stuffing to improve with significant bottle aging. I was wrong. Had this last night with oysters and tuna steak and wow the wine was really showing well. The intensity of the grapefruit and cut grass has faded slightly since the first couple times I had it, but it's been replaced by a graceful, feminine quality that's really enjoyable. There's a slight dustiness to this wine now that was really nice as well.

February 17, 2010 - Coming down to the end of the line on this bottle/vintage. What was once an obvious 92-pt wine and stellar now seems just ok and perfectly adequate. I think it was a combination of two things: (1) this was probably my introduction 2 years back to the intense style NZ SB style; and (2) I think this really was much better, more vibrant and palate grabbing in its youth. The wine paired fine with my crab bisque left-overs last-night. It was crack, spun and poured to glass with immediate consumption. 88 pts on day1.

November 11, 2009 - This has improved over the past ~16 months from when I first tried it. Some melon & dried grapefruit peel on the nose, along with a bit of slate & some obvious green beans. The taste & feel is where this wine has improved. The acidity & mineral elements have toned down a bit, so now fruit, green vegetables, minerals, and softer acid are in great balance to present a structured feel around a big bowl of white fruits. Includes a banana hint in there even. Great finish brings a touch of green bean acidity and just a touch of lemon zest to make it lively. Great bottle, went great with both crab legs & a broccoli/potato/chicken/cheese casserole.

(Mahi Sauvignon Blanc) #1; COLOR-light golden; NOSE-spectacular, enormous amounts of fresh cut green grass; snow peas; little sense of pure grapefruit juice; elegant; little hint of creaminess; TASTE-very heavy mouthfeel; almost like Sour Cream on the texture; more than most $30-$40 Sancerre's; very pure & clean; some gooseberry; some watermelon peel; honeydew; dominated by grass; hint cat pee; vegetal component; jalapeno pepper on the finish; Spectacular; GV-92
