August 8, 2023 - Superb. I loved this wine, still has life. Raisin and plum on the nose. Still lots of life.

October 10, 2022 - While the 68 Beaulieu Vineyards Cabernet doesn't show a huge amount of complexity, it has defied age in an amazing way, the freshness of its succulent plummy, grapey fruit no worse for the wear. This is so easy to drink, the tannins having melted away and the fruitiness of the nose joined by leather and a little espresso on the palate. Mellow, dark, full, and with that combination of freshness and tertiary elements that makes wine so worth pursuing intellectually.

October 9, 2022 - Nose: Slightly oxidative, but beneath this patina there is beautiful red fruit. Strawberry, cherry and herbs with a nice cocoa and cedar note. Palate: Completely resolved and silky, yet the fruit has a juicy presence and excellent acidity. Bright red fruited palate with leather, bell pepper and mint notes. Just a shade of parched leather to show its age. Such a characterful cabernet. Finish: Excellent length and powdery tannin. Surprising amount of silt at the bottom.

This was a remarkable one-owner bottle of the 1968 BV Napa. The legend of Andre lives on in this bottle.

October 8, 2017 - Wife's birth year at .Ink. Won't score this as it was more the experience than the contents. Still hanging on to life though.
