  December 21, 2008 - Immediately after opening the bottle the nose was very muted. We poured the wine into a decanter and let it breath for 1,5 hours before we poured the wine back into the bottle and drank it over a period of 4 to 5 hours.
  
  After decanting, the nose showed all sorts of herbs and spices, including bay leaf and dill, as well as anise and cherry. On the palate we got cherry, blackberry, anise and more herbs, and a really fascinating transition of flavours from coffee to mocha, to chocolate on the finish, to espresso in the aftertaste. The well-made wine was medium-bodied, had smooth tannins and solid acidity.
  
  It did not pair well with pizza though; the combination boosted the tannins and acidity. But we really liked the wine when consumed without food. At 15.50 EUR it also delivered good value. It is well worth the price and I would definitely buy it again.
