April 22, 2024 - Two weeks in France; 4/12/2024-4/24/2024: Bought at Caves du Forum in Reims. So much foam on the mousse that we wondered if the restaurant didn’t wash off the soap from the glass properly! A powerful, vibrant, but structured champagne that needs food. Tannins were more obvious on this one. Even split on the table between the Lancelot and Brochet.

August 26, 2023 - Emmanuel Brochet New Release (Crab at Bay): 100% PM from Lieu-dit of La Motelle, 24 hr maceration, 11 months in barrel, cuvee negoce, production of 6938 bottles. Raspberry, reminds me of a cough syrup. Lovely palate, not as tannic as the one I had earlier this. This was in fact drinking beautifully with a sweetness on the finish.

April 26, 2023 - Bienvenue a Champagne; 4/20/2023-4/29/2023 (Les Crayeres, various restaurants, Les Avises and a many wonderful producers): We had the 2019 earlier in the week at Les Crayeres but this is the more recent release. Disgorged in Jan of 2023. Vines were planted back in 1965-8. Again all blackberry and jam and yet fresh and prettty. 2% dosage. Just the right amount but there’s a feeling of fresh sweet fruits to it that is very natural. More of the gastronomic wine which would love a good meat pairing. Really wonderful.
