  June 20, 2019 - This was very good but surprised me a bit with its sweetness. Fairly deep golden in color, with a heavy botrytis nose. Peaches and some herbs on the palate, with a intense sweetness and just enough acidity to make it work. Reminds me of a Vouvray Moelleux in sweetness. Ready to go now, but will probably hold. I've only ever had one other Austrian with the old Auslese designation, an FX Pichler, and that was fermented dry.

  February 28, 2015 - Choucroute Garnie at Sarah and Jonathan's (Theater District, Manhattan, NYC): Brought by Jay M. I'd never seen this wine before, or even knew it existed (I started drinking Prager with the 96's.) Wow, what a treat. Golden and rich on the nose - saline and sweet, peach, creamy, golden spices. The palate is spectacular - golden, apple, a touch of sweet, spices, baked but not overripe or soft at all. Spicy, more apples, some peach, a bit of broth - delicious. Stunning for me. One of the best Austrian wines I have ever had. Thanks Jay! Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5-6/6, Finish - 5.5-6/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5-2/2 = 18-19.5/20.

Petrol, pear, lemon on the nose, soft and delicate and super fresh and graceful with apples, pears with a comparably mild sense of sweetness. I guess the Austrian idea of Auslese is a bit different than the German.
