  April 22, 2024 - This limpid, straw-colored wine is a blend of 70% Carricante, 20% Catarratto, 5% Grecanico and 5% Inzolia, vinified entirely in stainless steel. Popped and poured, it aromatically unfolds after the first 30 minutes to reveal scents of white peaches, quince, jasmine, wet stones and smoke. Light-bodied, seamlessly alcoholic (12.5%) and with lively acids, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose and stays solid on the mid-palate. Concluding with a lengthy, saline-infused finish, this is an impressive white that can be served as an apéritif or paired with light fare. Enclosed with a Diam 5 cork. Drink now-2026.

  April 1, 2024 - Really interesting wine. I don’t have a lot of experience with Carricante. Took some air and warmth to show itself. I poured it into a decanter about 30 minutes before dinner and it still took the length of the meal to show itself.mostly lemon and lemon zest on the nose. Some river rock in the background. Medium + (almost high) acidity on the palate. Initially, there was an interesting mid-palate richness that went away with time. Finishes with a stony/salty minerality. Really complex. great value. Paired with shrimp + a sort of buerre blanc made with a stock from shrimp shells and some herbs. Very food-friendly.

  March 30, 2024 - Citrus and green apple note. Highly acidic, minerally with saline. Would be fine with fish or shell fish with herbal sauce or broth.

  March 23, 2024 - Citrus-themed nose with lemon, lime and some orange. The medium-bodied palate continues with the citric theme, adding some apple and slight herbal tones. Stony mineral acidity and long finish with some bitterness, tapering towards wet rocks. Fresh, structured, somewhat textured and food-friendly. Not really very complex or intriguing, but a solid and decent pretty typical Etna white.
