April 29, 2024 - I have a soft spot for Nerello Mascalese, which I think is like a really successful mix of Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. However, in this wine, it's more Burgundy than Barolo, which is totally okay – but I miss some of the roses, tar, and the deliciously sharp tannins. Volcanic-soil with red fruit and tart cherries. Delicious acidity and a relatively long, strawberry finish.
