  October 14, 2011 - Dark colour, almost purple. Took a little while to open with red fruit, tobacco, earth, mineral, and a lot of oak with the latter eventually dissipating somewhat. The nose was nice (some animale, and oak) but had trouble peeking through, and only at some times after heavy swirling. This is still a bit young, but was balanced and had decent structure, if fading after about two years. I wouldn't have said this was a complex nor an exciting wine, and doubt my score would go up very much even with more bottle age. Not as good as the 2004/2001 I've tasted before, but pleasant enough / 88+ perhaps 89 with age.

  August 17, 2010 - Delightful from the start. Clarity and brightness. The fruit gave way to tobacco and more animal smells as the night went on. 45$ BYOB. A wonderful wine. Should have left it for a year more to let the depth
