July 3, 2023 - Color/App: medium-deep ruby core -> slightly diffuse fuchsia rim; medium viscosity. Bouquet of fresh-picked red cherry coulis and blueberries, a little gunflint and a touch of matchstick sulfer. High acid, cherry dominant palate that shows some noticeable but soft tannins, decent length but not a lot of character; kinda meh. And I don't really see this developing into something more profound either -- it's just a weekday quaffer. I'm a bit underwhelmed as I was hoping for something approaching Walter Massa's Monleale Barbera. Not a patch on that, unfortunately.
