March 21, 2024 - My first pineau grape wine (I think). Such a strange bottle of wine ….i didn’t have the opportunity to give much air …20 mins or so. Post bottle effervescence that did blow off. Very disjointed wine that may improve with age. Cranberry juice color and texture. Cranberry, soft strawberry, extreme tart acid like young green apple, then a tannic backend . Interesting experience/ experiment….but this is not a $50 wine IMO. Good experiment at $15.
Won’t rate as I think this needs a couple of years. Can’t ever see this being a good value .

January 11, 2024 - Great nose with some floral elements, peppers, spices, blood orange, and wild berries. Great acidity with tart red cherries, strawberry, black pepper, and violets on the palate. Good finish. I really liked this wine, the nose in particular is lovely. The palate is a bit simpler in comparison and it goes down way too easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking complexity. 91-92+

December 22, 2023 - Solid cool vintage lumiere. Clean, tart, peppery. Needs a little more time in bottle than the regard.

December 6, 2023 - After being blown away on my third of three times drinking 2020 Lumiere des Sens this weekend, I had to get into the 2021. It's tasty and respectable but it doesn't touch the same magic as the 2020.

This one by comparison is lighter on all fronts - fruit, acidity, tannin and body. That makes for a more casual bottle, where the boldness of all those aspects and how well integrated they all are in the 2020 is really what makes it so special. I'm sure I'll buy the 2022 next year, assuming Robinot deems it ready to package, and I'll continue to chase the dragon.

This is worth a taste but at the price point (particularly when I consider what conventional wines I can get for $50-60), I won't be seeking out the 2021 again.
