June 30, 2015 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $60+ (Bin 75): Cloudy, darker core, dull rim; metallic, plum, cloudy fruit profile, a bit warm, wild fruit, animal; sweeter palate, animal, nice plush texture, sweet dark fruit, the little tannin there hits the front of the palate; reminded me of N. Rhone.

June 21, 2015 - Delicious. Plenty of life still in this one but the normally harsh Gouge tannins have mostly subsided. Probably not going to get any better but probably has a few years left of good drinking. An hour decant did help this wine.

September 27, 2014 - Tasted blind. Awesome mode of bacon, mulberry compote and roses. Lots of bright red fruit on the palate - very vibrant. Drinking beautifully now.

June 15, 2011 - Dark, cola, licorice, delicious. Drinking well now but needs some time in the decanter.

Burgundy-Report

    3/1/2003 (link)

(Gouges Henri Nuits St.Georges Les Pruliers) Medium-full cherry colour, still with purple hints. Nose starts with toasty oak which quickly blows off to reveal faint spice and earthy notes set against a background of high toned black cherry. This wine is quite fat with grainy tannins and long, fresh acidity. The predominantly cherry fruit is also nicely persistent and has good depth, though shows no complexity at this stage. This is a very good wine.
