November 19, 2019 - Beautiful nose of resolved and softening red cherries, lots of spice, mild underbrush tones although overall stylistically clean and pure. On the surface this smells just like and is pretty comparable to the ‘91 Georges Jayer alongside. However, there is a touch of volatile acidity here, which I actually found to blow away pretty quickly. This also falls off quickly whereas the Jayer continues to just boom with that bright red cherry and has much more aromatic detail and complexity. I’m thrilled with how this Rouget showed in the shadow of two of the greatest and most special wines I’ve seen all year. Martine bottle. Missed two more online (Nov 2019) which was a mistake.

January 14, 2017 - Magnum. Rich, earthy, ripe red fruits, with some meatier quality too. At this point in life it feels a touch soft and bulky, lacking a bit of detail and finesse. But have not had before so my judgment is limited.

November 4, 2016 - Incredibly pure nose of sweet but mature red berry fruit. A very clear look at the underlying terroir. Damp earth and stones. Mild cinnamon spice. On the palate this is texturally silky with tremendous flavour and balance. Ripe red apple on the finish. Simply gorgeous...

January 11, 2015 - So sexy and perfect right now. Sandalwood and spice on the nose. Sweet red fruit. Everything balanced and perfect. Delicious.

May 3, 2014 - Hong Kong - nose of rose water / jello shots. Velvety on the mid-palate, rich red fruit on the finish. Was worried it might be passing it's prime window, it's probably in it right now. Very enjoyable drop.
