September 4, 2017 - Quickie drink at ES BK on a Monday night.
Stood upright more than a week already. In frosted glass Burgundy shaped bottle. Cork came out perfectly. Good fill.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, bright ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of sweet malt sugar, light earth, sweet spice, red cherries, raisins. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet red plums, raisins, light earth, sweet spice, bits of woody remnants. Sour plums with more air. Medium finish.
Very good quality. Elegant styled traditional Rioja. No sediments at all till end of bottle!! Time to drink up and enjoy already. Simple and straightforward aged goodness. Ain't going anywhere anymore.

October 18, 2015 - Deep nose, savoury, stale strawberries, dill pickle, great salinity. Light on the palate, long finish. A real treat.

June 11, 2015 - Popped this bottle with a group of friends at Salta Argentine Parrilla. Cork was in perfect condition. Colour was garnet, and orange tinged. On the nose, there were distinct hints of raisins and dates, and interestingly, a very porty aroma. On the palate, very clean and delicate, almost pinot like, with hints of strawberries, cranberries, and raisins, and it had notes of orange peel and woody oak on the finish. Acidity was high; lively, citrus undertones. It kinda reminded me of Rebello Fragola Strawberry Tawny Port which I drank recently. This is a lighthearted wine, extremely easy going and smooth, but one thing it lacked - complexity. It paired ok with our steaks, though I felt quite saturated with the raisiny notes after a while.

May 6, 2015 - Had it before we started the horizontal 2002 tasting and the wine was brought by a companion who had it the day before.
Light Ruby, clear, mahogany hue with colourless rim. A little oxidized in the nose with dried cherry, dried red fruits, licorice, spice and earth.
Gone on palate with oxidized notes. Dried blackcurrant fruits. Soft. & mellow. Almost resolve tannins. Not rated as this is not a pristine bottle. But it should be pretty impressive on the night when the wine was just opened.

August 14, 2014 - Good bottle, good cork, but I am a bit suspicious about previous cellaring conditions. Classic, bricking colour, a bit on the dark side, but within the norm. On the nose the foremost aroma is of salami and meat. On the palate the wine is quite soft, integrated and airy. Everything has come together, integrated tannins, accidity has totally backed off, it floats freely in a world of its own. (B)
