April 17, 2024 - Option for t 2024 Malbec World Day was t formidable Malbec Argentino (v21, 14% ABV) from Alejandro Vigil & Catena Zapata - proudly well-crafted f old vines at high elevation in Mendoza & far, far away f t typical cheap-murky stuff that this grape for me represents. Dark red, darker core, purple reflections. Nose brimes w heavily concentrated dark fruit f pop, black- & blueberries, plums, violets, tad of vanilla & barrel spice, leading to a fresh, fruit-driven & sweet-silky & vital palate, knock-out, 2m juicy close!

February 21, 2024 - Rd fruit driven with a touch of violets. A lovely wine but needs a 3-4 years to evolve in the bottle to more blueberry and violet characteristics

January 17, 2024 - Tasted at the At Catena Zapata facility, Mendoza. Their top of the line wine, and it is impressive. It put the other wines in this tasting to shame (Nicasia, D.V., and Angelica). It is an odd blend of older Malbec and new, which works. Fresh and fruity but full. Round and concentrated but clean. Decent length. Pricey though.

January 13, 2024 - Hard to rate ….way too young to open …just did it to try and gauge the quality. Very think…black ink color . After 2 hours in the glass it shows a little . Cherry, tart strawberry, blueberry, bleach, tar, long finish and soft tannins. Will buy more and age at least 10. Mid nineties points seem justified…just way too young to drink.
