Community Tasting Notes 11

June 30, 2021 - Slo-oxed for 20 minutes which allowed the wine to open. The color was a medium-dark purple to a faded rim. On the nose there were lots of dark red fruits, along with some blue and black fruits. All of these followed on to the medium bodied palate, with the blue and black fruits increasing their presence, along with a dose of earth and some spice. The acidity was relatively balancing, and the tannins were completely integrated. Still some life in here - maybe a few more years - but why wait to enjoy this well-aged Cornas.

August 9, 2020 - We served this with dinner for guests on Sunday. I did not take detailed notes, but will note that the wine still tasted surprisingly primary, with the oak still prominent. Probably would be good for at least another decade in the magnum bottle, maybe longer; it might take that long for tertiary characteristics to emerge.

March 1, 2018 - Consistent with my prior note. Very good and an interesting finish of blue and black fruits.

January 13, 2018 - Excellent example of a Northern Rhone, just into its drinking window. It showed a pleasant aroma, with mixed red and black fruits, tangy acidity, and some tobacco on the palate. My description is meager, this was really good.
