July 9, 2019 - Lots of sweet spices, crushed flowers, licorice, dark fruit and dark red fruit, some smoke and minerality. It‘s medium-full bodied, pretty dense and has medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin that is good quality. Very good length. This might be even better in a few more years. Nice Echezeaux. (94+)

March 19, 2016 - Dark, clipped, and brooding... not ready for air and the light of day. Tough to finish, I don't know where this will end up...

December 18, 2014 - Decanted for 3 hours. Even then, took a while to express itself - especially aromatically. Surprisingly balanced and drinkable now, though I think will improve with more time.

May 19, 2011 - Deep ruby. Sweet, sweet cherry on the nose. As expected, juicy cherries on the palate, light on the oak with a little mushroom essence and fresh cut grass. Nice balance of sweetness and acidity, but tannins need more time to resolve. Long finish. Very good, but will be better in a few more years.

January 13, 2011 - This is very nice. Pop and pour and it had a lovely sugary nosy that quickly blew off, and offered sweet spices and perfumed purple fruit. The first sip was yummy and delicious. It is definitely on the purple side, with a little rusty spices, full and quite powerful. Slightly brooding but very drinkable and enjoyable. There is noticeable wood but it is not a problem and I believe it will become more integrated with time. I like the wine. It is not as much fun as a couple of other 2006's I've had lately, but it is good no doubt. One thing that I have noticed with young F. Magniens, at this age they tend to be more like each other than anything else. Purple, darker, slightly rustic, quite firm, and similar wood profiles, and a little bit of nice florality. I think they will all get better and hopefully be less like each other. I like them though.
